| Description. Large
family home (sleeps 6) with swimming pool and garden. Our house is situated on the outskirts of Blantyre. We have a lovely view of (an hours drive for home) Mount Mulanje (3200m above sea level). This can be a very nice day trip and the view is spectacular. Mount Mulanje is situated on the Mozambique border. Another day trip about 90 minutes drive is the Liwonde National Park. (see Travel on www.malawi.net) Liwonde offers game drives and boat trip on the Shire river with lots of wildlife to enjoy. Zomba mountain is about a 45 minute drive from home and offers a splendid view of Lake Chirwa and on a clear day you can see Lake Malawi and mount Mulanje. If you are on the look out for great African curios this is one of the places not to miss. The house comprises of 4 bedrooms, 2 bathroom (1 en suite) lounge, dining room, TV lounge with satellite TV, VCR and stereo, as well as a kitchen and bar. We call it Hazyview due to the lovely but sometimes hazy view we have. It is situated in a large (+/- 3000 sq metre) garden. With a sparkling pool and a veranda or Khondi as we call it in Malawi to enjoy your sundowners and that must be Malawi's famous gin and tonic. At your service you will have a cook to prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner at your convenience. If you have children that need to be entertained when you want to go out or just to keep them occupied you will have a friendly nanny at your service. The property is also guarded 24 hours a day. For daytrips or a trip to the lake or the market and local shops you will have the services of a driver and a 6 seater 4 wheel drive vehicle. 2 hours drive to Lake Malawi where we have a small cottage that is included in the exchange. (15 minutes drive from the well known Club Makokola.) Cottage is also fully serviced. We look forward to welcoming you to our home, and you will see that Malawi really lives up to it's reputation as the "Warm heart of Africa". Our last exchange was in France, most enjoyable and we can give references. |
