  Description. Tamborine Mountain is a semi-rural area on the plateau of a small mountain (560m high) adjacent to the city of the Gold Coast. The Gold Coast is one of Australia’s major international tourist destinations and with a population of almost a million people. ‘The Mountain’, as it is known to locals, is a sought-after residential and holiday area for people who appreciate nature, a peaceful lifestyle, and a sense of community, coupled with proximity to all modern conveniences. It is only half an hour from some of Australia’s most popular beaches. The Mountain is renowned for its greenery – both in its 7 rainforest national parks (with walking tracks and waterfalls), and the lovely gardens, full of beautiful flowers, that prosper in this warm sub-tropical climate. It also features spectacular views to the Coast and inland. Residents of the Mountain have worked hard to ensure that commercial development does not take over, and the area retains a ‘village’ atmosphere, with many of the houses still on large blocks of land. For the visitor, there are also many craft shops, galleries, wineries, cafes and restaurants. The climate in summer is warm (typical maximum temperatures of about 25oC), and avoids the high temperatures sometimes felt on the nearby coastal strip. Within an hour’s drive of The Mountain are several World Heritage Area national parks, with spectacular scenery and more plant and animals species than almost anywhere else in Australia.

Our home
Our house is on a secluded 2 acre ‘rural’ block, with a heavily wooded area and pond at the front, and a large lawn, orchard, duck yard, vegetable garden and (above ground) swimming pool at the back. It is very peaceful, secluded and green. The house has three bedrooms and all usual conveniences. It is a 5 minute walk to the local shop, and a 7 minute drive to the main shopping area of Tamborine Mountain.
