| Description. Taarbaek is a
small village on the attractive coast 10 km north of Copenhagen. It's a
very safe area, with the most perfect setting you can dream of: Right
between the sea and the forest. Our apartment is on the ground floor in a
two-family-villa from 1912 on a dead end road. We have a wonderful terrace
(with BBQ) just outside the kitchen where we eat most meals in the summer
and a tiny patch of grass with evening sun. The local beach is two minutes walking from the house, the bigger and very popular Bellevue beach 7 min. walking. Directly access to a park from the ground of the house. 3 min. walking to the huge cultivated forest "Dyreparken" - "The Deerpark" where you can find lonely spots to picnic all by yourself as well as lively entertainment at "Bakken" - the worlds oldest amusement park. The house consist of master bedroom with double-bed, childrens room with one raised bed + one single bed and loads of toys(mostly for girls but also a great number of games + an old mac computer). Living room with fireplace, piano, tv, vcr, cd, playstation 2 + office corner. Kitchen/dining room with seating for 8 prs. equipped with all you need i.e. dishwasher. In the basement -which you reach form the kids room or outside entrance- our oldest girl has her own "secret" room and we have a room with the washing machine + lines for clothdrying. We are rather unfussy people who prefers living instead of tidying up. Our home is clean, cozy, we have lots of books and paintings and other nice things but it is NOT a luxury home. We have pet fish, who likes a bit of fish food, but if you are allergic to fish we can arrange for them to go on holiday too. Smoking is ok. Activities: Besides swimming in the sea (quite a few people here do so all the year), walking in the Deer park, we have tennis courts in the park 3 min. walk from the house, there is a riding school where you can rent horses. Copenhagen is 20 min. away with car or train with all cultural entertainment you can dream of especially in summer (for instance jazz festival, open air theatre, concerts for kids, Tivoli etc) and lots of good shopping and swimming in the harbor + the sights of course. "Louisiana" - beautiful museum of modern art is 30 min. by car further up the north coast. Sweden can be reached by car/bridge or boat in 45 min. In Lyngby - 10 min. drive away there's a great flea market every Sunday and a big lake where you can rent canoes or go sailing with tour boat. Direct train from CPH airport to Klampenborg station (2 min. by car from Taarbaek) We drive an old Volvo station wagon which can be exchanged. Besides the fish our family consist of: Svend 45, set designer + painter, Suki 41, works for Danish television, Laura 10, swims and goes to the local school (fancy having classroom with sea view !) and finally Rosa, 5 plays and goes to a forest kindergarten. We all love traveling and swimming and will prefer a place with some kind of water . |
