Description. The cottage is split-level and detached. It is located on a hilltop and from the house patio and garden there are far reaching views over rolling countryside. The cottage can accommodate six people, plus a baby. Most of the rooms are on the upper floor and comprise three bedrooms, a kitchen/dining room, a shower room with w.c and a second w.c. Downstairs there is a 28 foot by 12 foot living room with French doors leading onto the patio, barbecue and garden. We have a hi-fi system. The bedrooms have a double bed, twin three foot beds and twin two foot six beds. There is also a camping cot. Blankets, duvets and English pillows are provided, but we ask you to bring your own bed linen and towels. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a gaz cooker, fridge and microwave. We have an automatic washing machine and the cottage is electrically heated. At the side of the house there is an area of gravel for off-street parking. The cottage is in a peaceful countryside location, on the edge of the small village of Quimerc'h where you will find a small supermarket, bar, tabac, butchers and a church. Close by is the larger and pretty village of Le Faou which has a full range of shops including a larger supermarket. There are many excellent restaurants in the area which all offer very good value and a wide range of menus. If you enjoy fishing, Chateaulin is only 5-6 miles away where the River Aulne ranks number one in the whole of France for salmon fishing. Other species of fish also provide good sport. For cyclists The Circuit de L'Aulne bicycle race is famous world-wide for its quality and diversity. If you enjoy walking, the area has many beautiful coastal walks and there are also opportunities for rambles in the countryside. The beaches are sandy and uncrowded with safe swimming and sailing and are 10 miles away along country lanes. Quimper is approximately 20 miles south, an easy drive down the by-pass. For children, there are small play parks in the area, a small zoo and an inland lake with pedaloes etc. You may also like to take a boat trip or visit many of the fascinating towns and villages which are not besieged with tourists - yet! Night-clubs and a hectic night life are not to be found here, but if you are looking for a relaxing holiday in beautiful unspoilt countryside, then this is for you.
