Description. Sicily/ Siracusa,
Italy, is in the Southern part of Sicily, nearly at the end of Europe.
Siracusa is well represented in Giuseppe Tornatore’s movie “Malena”,
featuring Monica Bellucci.
The town is very beautiful and ancient and on the sea, and in the town
itself there are two terraces on the side well equipped with beach stuff
such as beach umbrellas etc. where you can swim or sunbathe in the town
center. The city has many places of interest, historical sights and Greek
theatres. In the nearby there are some of the most beautiful seaside
resorts, where you can choose between familiar sandy beaches or wild
rocks, distant one from the other only one or two miles, where the nature
is still wild and ideal for diving and fishing.
All over the town you can find many signs of the past Greek and Roman
dominations.
At only a few miles you can find many other spots of interest, such as the
town Noto, and the famous Taormina.
The prices in Sicily are a little bit less than any other part of Italy,
and we can suggest you some internal flights (not sold in agencies as they
are small air companies used mostly by Sicilians) from Rome or Milan that
are very cheap to reach the nearest airport, in the city of Catania, 45 km
from Siracusa.
So another reason to come here is to spend a very cheap and beautiful
holiday. The season for sun-bathing starts from April to late September...
Last (but not least, as they say!), you can complete with the best cuisine
in Italy, based on good and fresh fish and some typical Italian dishes, as
the cassata (a cake). The average price of a fish-menu in a restaurant
here is about 12/15 Euro.
This town is ideal for a calm holiday; if you are looking for a trendy and
crowdy beach, equipped with all kind of sports and amenities, this is not
the right place for you. But if you love the wild and free nature and to
walk in a small town with sights among the most beautiful, you could give
yourself the chance. |
