Our California home in the Grass Valley/Nevada City area. My husband will not stay away more than a few days, though. He will not come to Las Vegas, but may stay for a few days to visit his family in Los Angeles. This is where we stay most of the time when we are in the States. Lake Wildwood, a guarded gate community. My husband plays golf, so there is a golf-cart for your use. Our house is rented out for 10 months a year, and the owners have furnished it with their antiques and comfy sofas. It is a 70's style home that is just a comfy urban cabin in a wonderful area. It is about 1600 sq. ft., 3 bedroom, 2 bath home with a spacious kitchen. A private beach is down the way, and tennis and pool sports are at the larger Marina beach. This is a fun place for us to come during the summer as we live in a spacious high-rise in Bangkok with a full-time maid and lots of marble and granite. . . We also own 30 acres across the way. We often go to the top of our property to have a glass of wine and watch the lovely sunsets. Down the way is our private pond (we take our 4-wheel drive down)and a private deck which overlooks waterfalls in the cove. Last year we exchanged with a lovely couple from Granada Hills, CA., who came up to stay. They loved the small town atmosphere and sights of a gold rush era gone by. The Neighborhood Nevada City / Grass Valley is THE heart of the California Gold Rush. The original 1850' s architecture holds world-class restaurants, live theatre, spas, fine shops, boutiques, galleries and local history museums. Wineries rivaling Napa quality wines are abundant. Two world renown Yoga Retreat Ashrams are less than 30 minutes away. The city, bordering the Sierra Nevada Tahoe National Forest and located just minutes from many Sierra lakes and rivers is in the center of mother nature' s true splendor. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy the hiking, biking, fishing, boating, kayaking, golf, tennis, skiing water, alpine & x-cntry) , gold panning, and just about anything else you can think of all within minutes from the house.
