Our Lake Tahoe home is located in the Tahoe
Keys, a unique development with inland waterways from the lake leading to
each home's backyard and direct access to one of North America's most
beautiful alpine lakes. The "keys" also has exercise clubhouse,
indoor and outdoor swimming, and tennis courts. Our home is a 2
story with living room and 2 bedrooms and kitchen on the upper level and
the master bedroom and 2 car garage on the ground level. This is a true
Lake Tahoe style home with knotty pine walls, stone fireplace and western
decorating touches. The back of the home overlooks the water and has
mountain views surrounding and is the location of the hot tub. Lake Tahoe is primarily known for its recreational activities: fishing, sailing and motor boating, snorkeling, hiking, cycling and horseback riding. This is a large lake (22miles long and 11miles wide) so the "around the lake drive" can take a day if stops to the many interesting towns (Tahoe City, Incline Village, Truckee, Carnelian Bay) are included. Downtown Stateline offers hotels with excellent restaurants , Las Vegas style shows and gambling. Some of the state's best restaurants are here and accessible by boat as well as car. Day trips to old mining towns (now restored) are great fun. These include: Nevada City, Grass Valley, Auburn, Placerville and Virginia City are all within 2 hours drive.
