| Description. We are a
family of 5 plus a 20 year old Polish au pair (Magdalena). We live
and work in a University town, Davis in California. My wife and I are
both doctors. I teach at the medical school. We have three
children two boys (1993 and 1997), and girl (2002). Our house is two stories, relatively large (3100 square feet) and recently remodeled. The master bedroom and bath are upstairs along with a study. The 5 bedrooms downstairs including 3 for the children, a guest room, and the nanny's room with a separate entrance. There are three cars which could potentially be included in a swap. A 2003 Chevy Suburban (very big), a 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid (50 miles/American gallon), and 1982 Volvo wagon. Davis is a University town in the middle of California's central valley. I should "disclose" that we are not "near the beach" or in a quintessentially Californian place BUT we are 20 minutes from California's capital (Sacramento), less than an hour from the Napa Valley (wine), Berkeley, and Marin, about an hour from Sausalito and San Francisco, and less than 2 hours from Santa Cruz and Tahoe. Our house provides an excellent and comfortable home base and includes transportation. The University also has a world class performance venue (Mondavi Center). |
