Description. We live year round in
our home in the Rocky Mountains. The house has 3 levels with 2000 square
feet. The lower level has a large family room with 27" TV, oversized
leather couches (suitable for extra beds) , treadmill, exercise bike and
weight bench. This room walks out to a covered patio. Laundry facilities
include full size washer and dryer. There is also a one car garage on this
level which stores 3 bicycles, fishing gear, cross country ski equipment
and snowshoes for your use. The main living level is up on the second
level. The log interior is highlighted with vaulted ceilings and million
dollar views in all directions. Living, dining and kitchen areas are
combined. This area boasts double French doors to a furnished deck
including outdoor grill and heater. Kitchen is completely equipped and had
modern appliances. A woodstove provides extra heat and a cozy atmosphere.
There are 2 bedrooms on this level, one has twin beds, the other has a
double bed. Both have large closets and large windows. There is one large
bathroom on this floor. The master bedroom is on the loft overlooking the
main floor. This oversized room contains a king-sized bed, separate
sitting area, large bath with double vanity and jetted tub. Views from the
loft are breathtaking!

AREA & THINGS TO DO: Marble, Colorado is an historic town best
known for the marble quarry still in operation. The quarry was the source
of marble used to construct the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Washington,
D. C. Tours are available on summer weekends. The community is located in
the highest portion of the Crystal River Valley. The Crystal is
appropriately named, you will never see a more beautiful mountain river.
The valley is lined with 12, 000 foot peaks covered with fir, aspen and
oak brush. Although the quarry is still in operation on a limited basis
only about 100 full time residents remain. The valley is home to abundant
wildlife and the Crystal River which offers excellent trout fishing. Elk
winter in the field below our house. Summer activities include fishing,
kayaking, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, 4 wheeling (tours
available) and visits to restaurants, galleries, shopping in nearby
Redstone (10 minutes away) , Carbondale (30 minutes) , Aspen and Glenwood
Springs (1 hour away) . For a real adventure, we are only 12 miles from
Crested Butte via a hiking/mountain biking trail. In the winter, we offer
a Nordic Skiing Center 5 minutes from our home and Aspen, Snowmass, Aspen
Highlands, Buttermilk Mountain and Ski Sunlight are 1 hour or less for
downhill skiing. The Vail/Beaver Creek/Avon ski areas are less than 2
hours away.
Excellent restaurants, excellent shopping, galleries, museums
Forests, mountains, biking, skiing, hiking & boating.
In nearby Redstone there is a beautiful historic hotel that has an
excellent restaurant, very nice bar and offers tennis courts, pool, hot
tub and exercise room to non guests for a fee. We are fortunate to be
tucked into a private niche of a great resort area of Colorado. The nearby
communities offer special activities year round for locals and tourists
alike.
We are negotiable about providing an automobile. All our cars are 4 wheel
drive. We have cats and dogs, we can board them or work out pet sitting.
Please no smoking in the house. The nearest airport is in Aspen. Denver is
3 hours away and a shuttle is available to this area. |
