Description.
"Long Hollow Haven" is a two bedroom/two
bath cottage set on over an acre, in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains.
It has a screened porch off the living area, plus central heat/air, gas
log fireplace, washer/dryer, and satellite TV. It is located at the dead
end of the road, and provides a lot of privacy. One bedroom (twin beds)
and bath are of the first floor. The second floor contains the living area
(queen sleeper sofa) kitchen/dining area and the second bedroom (double
bed) and bath. The screened porch runs the depth of the house, so one end
is two stories up in the trees, and the other end is at ground level
opening onto a deck. The cottage is furnished with a mixture of
comfortable antiques and new furniture.....providing a clean, uncluttered
look.
"Long Hollow Haven" is located one mile off the Smoky Mountain National
Parkway, just three miles from downtown Gatlinburg and the entrance to the
Great Smoky Mountain National Park. This is the most visited Park in the
USA. It has over 900 miles of trails, with numerous streams and
waterfalls, and historical buildings. Just across the Park is the Cherokee
Indian Reservation and Harrah's Casino.
Gatlinburg is home to the Great Smoky Mountail Arts and Crafts community,
composed of the largest group of independent artisans in the country. The
cottage is also four miles from Pigeon Forge, a family oriented community,
and home to Dollywood Amusement Park and Dolly's Water Park (www.dollywood.com)
owned by Dolly Parton. For the super shopper, Pigeon Forge has the world's
largest outlet mall ...featuring all of the name brand companies. A short
trip will take you to Oakridge, Tenn., home of the American Museum of
Science and Energy. Oakridge was a super-secret city built during WWII to
develop the atom bomb. A day trip will allow you to visit the Biltmore
Mansion, the largest private home built in the USA. It was completed in
1905, and is stilled owned by the Vanderbilt family. Of course, you will
be just 3 1/2 hours from Nashville and the Grand Old Opry. Within a few
miles of the cottage, you can enjoy horseback riding, white water rafting,
and fishing. See web site smoky2000.com for more information on the area
and a calendar of events.
I am retired and available to travel anyplace, anytime. Because this is a
second home, simultaneous trades are not required.
Your nearest airport would be in Knoxville,
but Nashville and Atlanta, GA are just a 3 1/2 hr drive. |
