Description. Our
beautifully remodeled home boasts a view of the Hood Canal waters and
Olympic Mountains from a large deck. It is perfectly situated between
the metropolitan area of Seattle to the West and the pristine Olympic
Forest to the East! On the primary level is a modern kitchen/ dining/
living areas, one bedroom and one bathroom. The other level of our home
includes an additional living area, two bedrooms, one bathroom and the
utility room. The home is flooded with light from skylights and lots of
windows. There are new wood floors on the main level and brand new
carpet throughout the rest of the home. Enjoy our large backyard while
relaxing on a hammock between two apple trees. The front yard has
beautiful flowerbeds and flower filled window boxes. Our home also has
all of the modern conveniences such as dishwasher, central air
conditioning, heat, an online computer, and home theater system. The
neighborhood: Cliffside is very private with a footpath to the private
neighborhood beach. The homes are very nice and are perched on the cliff
overlooking the Hood Canal. The neighbors are very quiet, friendly and
helpful. They range from retired adults to young families with children,
and are all very nice people. Things to do: Outdoors on our small Kitsap
peninsula you can enjoy beachcombing, nature conversancy walks, Point No
Point lighthouse, Buck Lake hiking trails, and fishing. There are also
restaurants, shopping, local theaters for plays and movies, historic and
tourist destinations very nearby. Additionally, tennis courts, horseback
riding and swimming are available. Things to do on the Olympic peninsula
of Washington state include beachcombing, National Parks, National
Forest, Hiking, Camping, and Tourist Destinations: Hurricane Ridge, Hoh
Rainforest, Ocean Beaches, Hot Springs, Lake Quinault, and Pt. Townsend.
The ferry to Victoria, Canada is also located on the Olympic peninsula.
Things to do on the Washington mainland (via Edmonds/Kingston ferry or
Bainbridge/Seattle ferry) include 1 ½ hours to Seattle, Washington:
Pikes Place Market (Seattle), Space Needle (Seattle), Professional
Sports events, and the University of Washington campus (Seattle) and
many more things to keep you busy. Other tourist locations: Snoqualmie
Falls and Leavenworth. Other places within driving distance include four
hours to Vancouver, B.C. (Canada), and 3 hours to Victoria, B.C.
(Canada) via ferry from Pt. Angeles. The Dates and Destinations: We are
hoping to visit Western Europe for about one month between mid-June and
Mid-August 2002. We would prefer Italy, but are open to your offer.
Period of Availability: Our home will be available 2002 mid-June to
mid-August for approximately one month for trade. We will be very
helpful in suggesting terrific activities for you, and have friends very
nearby who would be able to help you during your stay. The People: Jamye,
32, is a public school kindergarten teacher who loves children, animals,
nature, and travel. Chad, 30, is a professional musician who loves
nature, travel and music. We are non-smokers, love meeting new people,
and experiencing new cultures.
