lot with deer & wild turkeys as frequent visitors. There are 5 bedrooms, 4
bathrooms, a large deck overlooking the river (with a gas cooking grill) ,
a screened in porch, a spacious living room/dining room area (which has a
high end audio system with a large library of CD's) , 3 T. V. 's (with
satellite reception) , a kitchen with all the modern conveniences, a
private enclosed area with a hot tub, a downstairs library/T. V. room & a
recreational room with a ping pong table & sauna. Home has A/C,
dishwasher, a washer & dryer & 3 car garage. Services included are house
cleaning (every other week) , hot tub maintenance & lawn/yard service. For
outside activities, the property has a basketball goal, a fleet of
bicycles (including a tandem) , badminton, croquet & access to 2 private
tennis courts only 400 yards from the property. The uniqueness of this
property is that it is located in a rural environment but only 45 minutes
from Minneapolis-St Paul, a major metropolitan area, and its airport. In
addition, it is situated close to two historic river towns, Hudson
Wisconsin (3 miles away) & Stillwater Minnesota (12 miles away) . These
towns have charming main streets with interesting shops & 1st class
restaurants. For golfers, there are 3 public courses nearby with easy
access. For fishermen, there are several prime trout streams within 15
minutes. For canoeist, the Upper St Croix, just north of the property, &
its tributaries are a paddlers delight. To the east of the house, the
landscape becomes increasingly rural, with beautiful rolling green hills
and quaint diary farms. If a night in the city is desired, Minneapolis-
St. Paul is only 45 minutes away- all the benefits of a 1st class city are
available- major league sports teams, world renowned art museums &
symphony orchestra as well! l as 4 star restaurants and top of the line retail stores (including the world famous Mall of America) . We live in Minneapolis, so this is our year round weekend get-away home. A lot of effort & care has gone into the appointments of the house to make it a comfortable place for our family. We do not rent the house, so we want to make sure that whoever we exchange houses with, will treat it with care & respect, as if it were their own; we will do the same with their home. No smokers or pets. Late spring through early fall is the times most people think about coming to this area. Don't however, dismiss winter, especially those who like winter sports- downhill & X/C skiing are near by. The house has 2 fireplaces with a full wood supply. For those who like the winter, it is wonderful get-away. No smoking Children OK. We are fairly flexible, both the U.S. and international. An urban home or spacious apartment in a major world city any time of the year. We have school age children so an area that is more suited for them would be summer or spring when they have the school holiday. |
