Description. We live a mile
outside the historic market town of Pontefract, on a Roman road nearly
2000 years old. Castle mentioned by Shakespeare, ghost walks, mediaeval
pubs, restaurants. House is about 80 years old with a large, private
garden with big trees, and overlooks fields. One bathroom but downstairs
toilet too. Mostly furnished with antiques, log fire, car exchange
offered. We are in our mid-thirties, no children, one dopey cat. Half an
hour from York and Leeds, 40 mins to Haworth (Brontes) and just over an
hour to the coast. Lots to do in the area, from shopping to history. We
have done one house swap this summer, with no disasters, but we're not
experienced swappers.
